Unrest and vandalism of property has started a few day’s after the former president of the Republic of South Africa Mr Jacob Jacob Gadleyehlekisa Zuma Zuma was arrested for not attending his court trial. Things have spiraled out of control as residents of Nkandla planned and executed a riot in order for the ruling party to let Zuma go. This riots have brought the KwaZulu-Natal province to stand still as cargo trucks were burned. These riots caused a lot of damage on the infrastructure as malls were burnt and goods were stolen. In one of the videos recorded by the South African Broadcasting Corporation news (SABC news) the protestor said they won’t stop until Zuma is released. Chain stores like Shoprite-Checkers, Spar and others were badly affected by this. After one week the riots spread to the Gauteng province and places like the Evaton mall and others were burnt and goods were stolen.President Cyril Ramaphosa had to address the nation about the looting and unrest on Monday 27 july 2021. In his a dress Mr Cyril ramaphosa Ramaphosa told the nation that the African National Congress (ANC) does not support criminal action and Mr Jacob Zuma will not be released from prison. He said in order to help the SAPS (South African Police Services) the SANDF (South African National Defence Force) will send soldiers to these areas. As a come back from this horrible incident the South African government has put aside 1 billion rands to rebuild what has been lost.

Some people were not doing all the damage for the arrested president. People of South Africa are hungry so that’s why they braking malls and loot.
